About the role
Axon seeks a Sr. Software Engineer II for its CloudNet team, focusing on solving real-time problems for mission-critical cloud-native services. The role involves Kubernetes networking, service mesh (Istio, Envoy), ingress, gateways, TLS/certificate automation, DNS, and public-edge routing. The engineer will ship automation and reliable cloud-based platforms, working with teams worldwide, and provide technical guidance on connectivity and scaling.
Requirements
Six+ years on globally diverse, 24/7 high-volume production systems with a Bachelors in CS. Strong track record in at least one: operating critical components in Kubernetes at scale, infrastructure-as-code on Azure preferred, production software in Python/Go/Java, or ownership of service mesh, ingress, TLS/cert automation, DNS patterns. Excellent debugging for cloud-native distributed systems, familiarity with GitOps, empathy for varying networking knowledge.
