About the role

Axon seeks a Senior Firmware Engineer I to contribute to AIoT device-level firmware infrastructure, focusing on battery safety, thermals, health, charging, and fleet-wide metrics. The role involves implementing firmware for battery safety logic, fuel gauging, accelerated charging, de-rating, eLinux daemons, USB-C patches, and automated test systems. The team uses AI tools for coding and analysis. Preferred locations: Scottsdale, AZ or Seattle, WA with hybrid schedule.

Requirements

B.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 8+ years of real-world industry firmware or embedded experience on battery-powered IoT products. Experience with battery and power management subsystems, safety, and thermal. Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, Golang, and/or Python. Experience with boot-loaders, SoCs, datasheets, schematics, lab bench equipment, technical writing, computer architecture, OS, concurrency, networking, kernel and user-space embedded Linux (Yocto, OpenWRT,
