Engineering Manager (Embedded)

DS builds radio spectrum intelligence systems, collecting radio data globally, training neural networks, and deploying on constrained hardware. The Engineering Manager (Embedded) leads the team responsible for the embedded Linux platform, hardware interfaces, on-sensor model runtime, and field reliability. This people-leader-first role requires deep technical understanding to own architecture, review designs, and make decisions on memory, timing, and hardware interaction. The product operates at the intersection of embedded systems, ML, and hardware, with direct customer impact. The role is on-site in NYC.

Candidates must have led embedded, firmware, or systems engineers and come from a strong embedded or systems engineering background. They should think in systems, understand OS, memory, hardware, and network interactions, and be able to hold technical positions with senior engineers without writing code. Experience shipping software onto unreachable hardware and comfort with hardware timelines and undefined problems are required. Eligibility for a US Security Clearance is necessary. Technical background includes embedded Linux, C, C++, Python, Yocto/Buildroot, Docker/systemd, networking, SPI/I2C/UART/Ethernet, and CI/CD for hardware.
