Senior Software Engineer II

Senior Software Engineer II on the Vehicle Intelligence firmware team at Samsara. Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining firmware for cloud-connected IoT devices in vehicles, focusing on observability and firmware releases. Uses C/C++ and Golang, collaborates with product managers and other teams. Aims to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability of vehicle fleets. This role is remote and based in Canada, requiring 8+ years of software development experience.

Minimum 8+ years professional software development experience. Experience with large-scale observability, shipping production code, building metrics during firmware rollouts, and triaging issues. Bachelor's or Master's in CS or related field required. Preferred: C/C++ or Golang, Linux embedded systems, SoC vendor experience, CAN-utils, and telematics experience.
