Software Engineer, Networking (Agent Infra)

Baseten is building a networking stack for microVM sandboxes used by AI agents. This role focuses on designing a user-space, VPP-based data plane, multi-tenant virtual private networking, and exposing the network as a programmable API. The team builds cloud networking from scratch, not just using cloud providers' networks.

Experience with user-space packet processing (DPDK, VPP), multi-tenant networking (VXLAN, GENEVE), and production software-defined networking. Strong systems programming in Rust, Go, or C/C++. Background in building cloud networking as a provider, TCP/IP, proxies, and debugging latency. Nice-to-have: VPP, eBPF, IPv6, telecom networking.
