Software Engineer - Observability

Baseten seeks experienced Software Engineers for the Observability team to build high-throughput telemetry pipelines, storage, and diagnostic tools for multi-cloud infrastructure. The role involves designing scalable ingest pipelines, evolving observability platforms, building instrumentation libraries, and driving alerting/SLO infrastructure. The team ensures reliability and operational excellence as Baseten scales.

Deep experience in at least one observability signal area (metrics, logging, tracing, or error analytics); understanding of high-throughput data pipelines and columnar storage; experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ClickHouse, OpenTelemetry; strong proficiency in Python, Rust, or Go; excellent communication skills; interest in applying AI/LLMs to operational workflows; comfortable working independently on ambiguous high-impact challenges.
