Software Engineer - Platform Observability and Intelligence

Fastly's Platform Observability and Intelligence team is seeking a mid-level full-stack software engineer to contribute to internal observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry) and developer portal (Backstage). Responsibilities include designing and maintaining software, debugging across stack, collaborating with team, and participating in on-call rotation. The role is hybrid/remote with preference for San Francisco or New York offices.

2+ years professional software engineering experience with statically typed back-end languages (Go, Java, Rust), modern front-end frameworks (React), SQL, Linux, distributed systems. Strong debugging and communication skills. Service mindset, proactive, comfortable with agile processes. Desired experience with Backstage, observability tools, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Terraform, data engineering, FinOps, network infrastructure.
