Senior Backend Software Engineer (APIs), Security Products

Fastly is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer for the Security Products Console team to design, ship, and own public-facing APIs and backend services in Go. The role involves using AI coding agents, collaborating with frontend engineers and product managers, and participating in on-call rotation. The team builds APIs for Next-Gen WAF, DDoS protection, Bot Management, and more.

Hands-on experience designing and building reliable large-scale backend systems (5+ years), 5+ years shipping production Go, 3+ years on public APIs with external consumers, experience driving projects end-to-end, good judgement on RESTful API design, testing and observability, and using coding agents daily. Preferred experience in security products and auth at API scale.
