Staff Software Engineer - Control Systems

The Control Systems team translates customer intent into configuration data that powers Fastly's edge. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will join a group of engineers solving complex problems in high-availability systems, driving architectural improvements, providing technical leadership, and mentoring others. You will work on Perl production systems and evolving Go microservices, collaborating across teams and participating in an on-call rotation.

Significant experience building highly reliable distributed systems (7+ years), solid Go understanding, pragmatic approach to legacy systems (willingness to learn Perl), ability to drive complex cross-team projects, communicative and empathetic teammate in remote environment, adaptable problem-solver. Preferred: production-level Perl, Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana.
