Staff Product Security Engineer

Chainguard is seeking a Staff Product Security Engineer to lead high-impact, cross-functional security initiatives, focusing on establishing policies, tooling, and guardrails for the AI SDLC. The role involves partnering with engineering to embed security controls into the full development lifecycle, driving secure-by-default development, conducting security reviews, automating vulnerability detection, and influencing stakeholders.

7+ years in software, product, application, or cloud security. Experience driving security programs (secure SDLC, AI SDLC, vulnerability management, platform hardening). Strong hands-on familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, public cloud, and security controls. Understanding of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, SLSA). Ability to automate security workflows in Go, Python, or Shell and integrate into CI/CD. Proven influence and communication in a remote environment.
