Staff Platform Database Engineer

Chainguard is seeking a Staff Platform Database Engineer to define and implement database platform strategy across the company. Responsibilities include assessing current database systems, improving resiliency and availability, building tooling and automation, writing production code, supporting global scale, reducing operational risk, and providing technical leadership. The role requires deep experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, cloud environments (AWS, GCP), and production database operations.

8+ years building and operating production database and platform infrastructure, staff-level experience, strong PostgreSQL and MySQL, hands-on experience with replication, HA, backups, migrations, capacity planning, distributed databases, cloud experience (AWS, GCP), Linux, Go programming, and cross-functional leadership.
