About the role
Patreon is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Backend Platform team to design and drive technical solutions for core backend services, APIs, databases, and infrastructure. The role involves leading architecture of scalable distributed systems, modernizing backend architecture, and mentoring engineers. Hybrid work model in San Francisco or New York.
Requirements
Significant experience building large-scale backend systems (6-8+ years), expertise in distributed systems, high-throughput APIs, databases (MySQL, Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB), performance optimization, cloud-native (AWS, Kubernetes), proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or Rust, and experience mentoring engineers.
