Security Engineer

Patreon is seeking a Security Engineer to join its Security team. The role involves contributing to security projects and responding to security investigations, vulnerabilities, or questions. Work spans application security, infrastructure security, and internal/corporate security. The engineer will write code to solve security problems, participate in on-call rotation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The goal is to protect Patreon creators and fans.

Two or more years of experience reducing security risks in application, infrastructure, or corporate security. Deeper knowledge (three+ years) in at least one security domain. Proficiency in Python, Rust, Golang, or similar. Experience with modern development tools (git, CI/CD, LLM coding tools). Experience using AI tools (LLMs, ML models) for security issues. Energized by fast iteration and creating elegant solutions. Belief in Patreon's mission. Bachelor's or Master's in CS or equivalent.
