About the role
Docker is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Developer Experience team. This role involves leading backend systems, working with Clojure, Go, Kafka, Datomic, and Spanner. The engineer will set technical direction, design distributed services, lead cross-team initiatives, and mentor senior engineers. The position is remote-first with offices in Seattle and Paris.
Requirements
8+ years of software engineering experience with technical leadership on production systems. Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent. Deep experience in backend/platform systems. Strong programming ability in at least one production language. Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, APIs, databases, cloud-native infrastructure.
