About the role
Docker is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the AI Substrate team to design and build the infrastructure for enterprise agentic platforms. Responsibilities include building systems in Go on Kubernetes, ensuring consistent multi-cloud deployment, owning release and supply chain, production ownership, and setting technical direction. The team is small and senior, focused on security, reliability, and control for large-scale agent workflows.
Requirements
10+ years professional software engineering in infrastructure/platform/cloud services. Experience building and operating cloud control planes, Kubernetes controllers/operators, deep knowledge of at least one major cloud, production ownership (on-call, SLOs), distributed systems design, professional proficiency in Go. Preferred: Kubernetes resource orchestration, release engineering, private connectivity, OpenTelemetry, managed services, microVMs, BS in CS or equivalent.
