Member of Technical Staff (Software Engineer, Model Platform)

Perplexity is seeking a deeply technical software engineer to own and evolve the model serving platform, connecting products and research systems with inference layers. The role involves designing core abstractions, leading technical decisions, and writing production Rust and Python for a service handling hundreds of millions of model requests daily. The ideal candidate has 5+ years experience in large-scale systems, proficiency in backend languages and cloud infrastructure.

5+ years experience building large-scale systems with high reliability. Strong software engineering craft, designing future-proof systems. Proficiency in backend languages (Python, Rust, C++, Go) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes). BS/MS/PhD in CS or related field or equivalent experience.
