Staff+ Software Engineer, Infrastructure (Distributed Systems)

Anthropic's Infrastructure organization builds and operates distributed systems for training, serving, and securing AI models. As a Staff+ Software Engineer, you will independently scope and lead multi-month infrastructure projects, make architectural decisions, drive alignment across teams, partner with research and product teams, and take ownership of reliability, scalability, and security. You will also set technical strategy, improve operational processes, and mentor other engineers.

Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production. Track record of independently scoping and delivering complex multi-month projects. Experience making architectural decisions. Strong software engineering fundamentals and proficiency in at least one language (Python, Rust, Go, Java). Experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code on AWS/GCP. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
