Security Engineer / Research Engineer, RL Security

Anthropic is hiring a Security Engineer / Research Engineer for RL Security. The role involves designing and operating security controls for RL training systems, working across the stack, reviewing designs and code, building shared libraries and tooling, and ensuring security changes preserve training correctness and performance. The ideal candidate has strong software engineering skills in Python and a systems language, experience with large-scale distributed systems, and security fundamentals.

Strong software engineering skills in Python and at least one systems language (Rust, C++, Go). Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems or security systems in production. Strong understanding of security fundamentals. Working knowledge of Linux, containers, and cloud infrastructure. Experience debugging complex problems across many hosts and services. Ability to reason about tradeoffs between security, performance, and reliability. Strong written and verbal.
