Senior Software Engineer - Application Traffic team

Databricks is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Application Traffic team to design and build systems for service-to-service communication across thousands of clusters in a multi-cloud environment. The role involves building the ingress control plane, service discovery and load balancing, and overload protection systems. The engineer will create abstractions to hide networking complexity from product teams, ensuring seamless connectivity and reliability.

BS or higher in Computer Science, 5+ years designing large-scale distributed systems, strong proficiency in Java, Scala, Go, or C++, experience with service-oriented architectures, familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP and Kubernetes/Docker, track record of shipping infrastructure for mission-critical workloads. Preferred: background in service discovery, DNS, load balancing, Envoy.
