About the role
Docker's AI Tools & Security team is building the MCP Gateway, a product for secure AI agent infrastructure. We are seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to lead technical direction, define solutions, mentor team members, and collaborate with Product and Design. This is a high-velocity, remote-first role at the intersection of AI, security, and developer experience.
Requirements
10+ years backend engineering with distributed systems at scale. Technical leadership, architectural vision. Expertise in cloud-native systems, Go or modern systems language. Strong grasp of CI/CD, testing, deployment. Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP. Mentorship and cross-functional collaboration. Preferred: Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, LLM APIs.
