Software Engineer - Backend

Cogent is an Applied AI Lab building AI agents for cybersecurity. We are looking for Backend Senior and Staff Engineers to design and implement backend services and integrations for autonomous AI workers. The role involves laying infrastructure foundations for growth, helping create a robust engineering culture, and working with design partners. We blend frontier research with real-world execution.

5+ years of professional experience as a hands-on engineer and technical leader. Expertise in architecting and scaling backend systems, distributed systems, microservices, serverless. Strong knowledge of Python, Go or similar. Experience with API design (RESTful/gRPC), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform), CI/CD, multi-cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
