Lead Engineer - Acc Core

Xero is rebuilding its ledger integrity layer. As Lead Engineer, you will set the architecture for accounting capabilities like general ledger, journals, and multi-currency. You will lead a Vancouver engineering team, ensuring correctness at scale, evolving a mature system with durable execution (Temporal), and making AI-ready data. You will own technical direction and be accountable for reliability and data integrity end-to-end.

You set the standard in AI-assisted development, operational excellence, and flexible architecture. Track record delivering highly available distributed backend systems and designing high-throughput services. Depth in system architecture, API design, SQL and NoSQL databases. Proficiency in modern backend stack (C#, Java, Go, C++) and cloud-native platforms like AWS. Strong problem decomposition and agile execution.
