Software Engineer - Identity & Authorization

Baseten is hiring a founding Software Engineer for its identity and authorization team within enterprise engineering. You will own the identity and access layer of the platform, designing and building a fine-grained authorization system from the ground up. This includes per-resource permissions, programmatic authentication, agent credentials, enterprise identity lifecycle (SSO, SCIM), and admin controls. 4-5+ years building production backend systems, including hands-on design of a product authorization system (per-resource permissions, relationship-based access control, policy engine, or fine-grained auth like Zanzibar, OpenFGA, SpiceDB, Cedar). End-to-end ownership from design to production. Experience with multi-tenant systems at scale, where auth checks are in the request path. Full-stack comfort including cloud and Kubernetes.
