Staff+ Software Engineer, Safeguards Data

The Safeguards Data team at Anthropic owns the data lifecycle for Safeguards, building infrastructure for safe use of Claude. This role involves designing and operating data stores, pipelines, and APIs, building privacy-safe interfaces for ML training and evaluation, scaling distributed systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position offers autonomy to shape technical vision and team trajectory.

Strong systems fundamentals, experience building large-scale distributed systems, handling sensitive data with security controls, building widely adopted platforms, leading technical design across teams, proficiency in systems languages (C, C++, Rust, Go), 8+ years software engineering experience, Bachelor's in CS or equivalent, experience with ML data infrastructure, data governance, and agentic coding tools.
