Staff Platform Engineer

This role provides technical leadership for Gemini's internal engineering platform, building self-service systems, developer tools, and automation. The Staff Platform Engineer shapes platform strategy across cloud, networking, compute, storage, CI/CD, and reliability. They work with engineering, security, data, and product leaders to turn operational needs into reliable platform products, driving adoption and improving developer productivity and production reliability.

Candidates need 8+ years of professional experience in software/infrastructure engineering or SRE with strong software engineering skills in Go, Python, TypeScript, or Rust. Experience operating cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers/Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and setting technical direction across teams. Mentoring and leadership skills required.
