Senior Software Engineer, Asynchronous Processing

Senior Software Engineer (Platform) on the Asynchronous Processing team at Klaviyo, responsible for designing, building, and operating the high-scale event-driven backbone using Golang, Python, Apache Pulsar, Kafka, SQS, AWS, and Kubernetes. The role involves developing resilient multi-tenant queueing platforms, mentoring engineers, and ensuring system reliability at massive scale.

Requires 6+ years of software development experience building and operating highly available SaaS products at scale, expertise in asynchronous processing and queueing systems (SQS, Kafka, or Apache Pulsar), familiarity with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes. Must own full project lifecycle, operational health, SLOs, on-call, and mentoring. Nice-to-have: Linux administration, Apache Pulsar at scale.
