Staff+ Infrastructure Engineer, Cluster Infrastructure

The Cluster Infra team owns the full lifecycle of compute clusters. This Staff Engineer role sets technical direction for agent-driven cluster lifecycle management, including provisioning, updates, decommissioning, and security. The role partners across teams to ensure new compute capacity is ingested on time and aligns with cloud providers and research teams on long-term strategy. It also involves establishing operational excellence practices and mentoring engineers.

Deep expertise in distributed systems, reliability, and cloud platforms (Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure). Strong proficiency in at least one systems language (Rust, Go, Python) and IaC with Terraform. Track record of leading complex multi-quarter initiatives and building alignment across stakeholders. Preferred: 10+ years software engineering, experience with hyperscale compute (100+ clusters, 10K+ nodes), depth in Kubernetes internals, cluster provisioning, cloud networking, security, and workflow orchestration.
