Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Search & Retrieval Infrastructure

We are hiring a senior/staff software engineer to design and build core components of our next-generation knowledge retrieval system built for the AI era. You will build scalable platform components, indexing pipelines, backend services for semantic and hybrid retrieval, knowledge graph construction, and retrieval orchestration. You will improve retrieval quality, design APIs, optimize latency and throughput, and drive technical direction for reliability and security.

To thrive, you need 6+ years of production-grade backend experience, expertise in at least one of Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Python, experience with semantic search, vector databases, hybrid retrieval, RAG, and modern infrastructure tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, or Pulumi. You should have product thinking and ability to navigate ambiguity. Bonus: multi-tenant SaaS, retrieval evaluation, query planning.
