Staff Software Engineer, Backend

We are looking for a staff engineer to set technical direction for systems that move billions of messages daily. This role involves making high-level architectural decisions, solving ambiguous cross-squad problems, building consensus, mentoring senior engineers, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate has 10+ years building distributed systems in Go, depth across multiple domains, and a track record of designing for production reality.

10+ years building scalable distributed systems in Go or similar statically typed languages, depth across multiple systems, track record of designing for production reality (throughput, cost, reliability), experience with observability and recovery, cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP), relational databases (MySQL), evidence of making other engineers better, bias for action.
