Software Architect

Fingerprint, a 100% remote company, seeks its first dedicated Architect to lead cross-cutting architecture across engineering. The role involves building an end-to-end architecture picture, identifying scaling and reliability risks, setting API/service design direction, and shaping foundational initiatives like cell architecture and multi-region readiness. 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years as an Architect for a 100+ Engineering org. Track record of leading through influence. Deep expertise in distributed systems and high-throughput, low-latency backend architecture (Go, Kubernetes/AWS, event-driven, data-intensive). Experience designing public APIs and SDKs at scale. Comfortable being the first. Nice to have: fraud detection, multi-region/cell-based architecture, MCP/LLM integrations, ClickHouse/Kafka.
