About the role
Join the engineering team building the Kong AI gateway, empowering companies to govern AI & LLM innovation. Responsible for building and maintaining API management software for AI, implementing features like multi-LLM routing, semantic caching, and MCP. Troubleshoot bugs, performance tuning, and low-level optimizations.
Requirements
3+ years of server-side programming; hands-on with Golang or Rust; experience building scalable, distributed, reliable applications; low-level Linux expertise; distributed systems and networking knowledge; comfortable with remote teams; strong ownership and communication; familiarity with AI/LLM concepts. Bonus: NGINX/OpenResty/Kong/LuaJIT, Envoy/Istio.
