Senior Software Engineer II, Logistic Foundation

Instacart is transforming the grocery industry. The Logistics Foundation team builds fulfillment platform systems. Seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead complex platform initiatives, design distributed backend services, partner with cross-functional teams, and drive adoption of modern technologies. This is a remote-friendly role across the U.S. and Canada.

7+ years backend experience, proficiency in Ruby/Python/Go, experience building large-scale distributed systems with SLOs and on-call, proven track record leading complex projects, exceptional communication skills, Bachelor's in CS or equivalent. Preferred: compliance-sensitive systems, Ruby on Rails, Python, Golang, Postgres, Redis, AWS, geospatial systems, marketplace/logistics domain, performance optimization, cross-team collaboration, AI tools.
