Senior Software Engineer, Underwriting

The Senior Software Engineer on the Underwriting team designs and builds backend services and systems that power Coalition’s cyber insurance underwriting decisions. They integrate security, insurance, and proprietary data to apply business rules, statistical models, and machine learning in assessing and monitoring risk. Requires strong experience building backend APIs and services in Python and/or Go, including REST and at least one additional transport like gRPC or GraphQL. Must have experience with source control (Git), deploying in AWS, modern observability tools (Sentry, Datadog, etc.), agile development, and a degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Also requires P4-caliber ownership: ability to drive projects independently and mentor less-experienced engineers.
