Staff Software Engineer, Security Engineering

Staff-level individual contributor role and technical lead for the Security Engineering team behind Coalition Control. Own critical backend services end-to-end, set technical direction, and mentor other engineers. Ship product fast, strengthen platform, hold high bar for engineering craft, unblock and elevate team, work across lines, share pager, and partner with Product, Design, and Engineering.

Proven experience as a backend engineer designing distributed, event-driven systems in production. Demonstrated technical leadership, influencing architecture and mentoring. Strong proficiency in Python/FastAPI (plus) and comfort with TypeScript/React. Hands-on AI-assisted development workflows. Experience designing APIs and integrating third-party services. Track record of simplifying complex systems. Understanding of security concepts. Clear communication and outcome-oriented approach.
