Member of Technical Staff (Software Engineer, Security)

Perplexity is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to build and evolve security tools, automations, and AI-driven agents for detection, response, vulnerability management, and security posture. Responsibilities include designing automation for detection and response, implementing AI agents, supporting bug bounty programs, threat modeling, building secure libraries, integrating security signals, and reducing manual work in incident response.

4+ years of experience as a software engineer building security tools, proficiency in Python/Go/TypeScript, experience with security systems (SIEM, EDR, cloud APIs), threat modeling, bug bounty or vulnerability management experience a plus, familiarity with AWS and SaaS, cross-functional collaboration, bonus: AI-powered agents.
