Staff Software Engineer, Data Authoring

Airbnb's Data Authoring Platform team seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own and drive high-impact workstreams on Minerva, the semantic layer & metrics platform. The role involves building core services, partnering with users, and delivering solutions to help thousands of internal users define and consume trustworthy business metrics. The engineer will work on query rewriting, data tooling, and cross-team projects.

9+ years software engineering experience building production applications; deep proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, Go, Python, or TypeScript; experience with data platforms or data tooling; ability to scope and drive ambiguous cross-team projects; strong OOP, API design, distributed systems; communication skills. Nice to have: experimentation platforms, metrics/semantic layer/BI platforms, query engines, DSLs/compilers.
