Staff Software Backend Engineer, Tech Lead - Foundations

NetBox Labs seeks a Staff Software Backend Engineer and Tech Lead for the Foundations team. The role involves technical leadership of platform engineering, owning shared services like identity, UI platform, standards for Kubernetes/Postgres/Redis, developer experience, and service catalog lifecycle. The lead works closely with Engineering Manager and Product Manager, ensures adoption of catalog services, and handles design decisions across Cloud and Enterprise differences.

Requires 7+ years software development with platform ownership, breadth across identity, data stores, service communication, developer tools. Must have experience with OAuth, SSO, RBAC, API design for other teams, backend in Python and Go, strong Linux, distributed systems, Kubernetes. Also requires leadership without authority, 5+ years in B2B startup, decisions under ambiguity, and hands-on AI development workflow. Preferred: Kubernetes operators, network management, open-source.
