Staff Software Engineer, Developer Productivity (Dev Environments) - Claude Code

Anthropic seeks a Staff Software Engineer for the Developer Productivity team to own the development environment end-to-end for engineers building Claude. Responsibilities include reducing environment cold-start time, designing sandbox isolation, building pre-push validation, and shaping repository topology. The team uses AI coding assistants daily and expects the candidate to be hands-on with agentic coding.

Significant backend or developer infrastructure experience, proficiency in Python, hands-on with Docker/Kubernetes, prior ownership of developer environments, experience working across teams, daily use of AI coding assistants. Preferred qualifications include 7+ years experience, Rust/Go, reducing cold-start under 1 minute, environment isolation design, monorepo experience, Bazel/Nix, platform tech lead experience.
