Staff DevOps Engineer

Vast is looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer to support the development of systems for artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. The role involves developing CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with Flight Software teams, designing secure cloud environments for missions, driving operational requirements, orchestrating chaos and load testing, building an internal developer portal, and working cross-functionally with InfoSec and IT. The position is full-time and located in Long Beach, California.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering discipline. 3+ years of experience in application development with Python, Go, or Javascript/Typescript. Experience maintaining large-scale data systems with strict SLAs. Extensive experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes. Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts. Ability to triage priorities and promote DevOps culture. Preferred: expertise in Golang, Kafka, incident response, SAST/SCA, and self-hosted observability.
