Senior Mission Operations Engineer - Ground Segment

Vast is looking for a Senior Mission Operations Engineer to become a foundational member of the Ground Segment group within the Mission Operations team and support planning and execution of Vast missions. The role involves taking ownership of large initiatives, providing technical leadership, leading pre-flight testing, on-orbit operations, anomaly resolution, and deorbit. Also includes mentoring junior engineers and improving mission systems.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, 5+ years experience in complex systems operations, cross-functional ability, critical thinking, communication, technical leadership, willing to support 24/7 operations. Preferred: human spaceflight experience, master's degree, spacecraft design/build/test, systems engineering knowledge, software skills (C++, Golang, Javascript, React, etc.), command line proficiency, technical writing, mentorship.
