Senior Database Reliability Engineer

Scribe is hiring a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, performance, and scalability of the data tier. The role involves designing schemas, tuning Aurora, reinforcing standards for database interactions, reviewing Django ORM migrations, contributing to infrastructure initiatives like zero-downtime migrations and multi-AZ resilience, operating CDC pipeline (Aurora to DMS to Snowflake), building tooling and guardrails, and mentoring engineers. Strong PostgreSQL (EXPLAIN, MVCC, bloat, lock contention, vacuum), ORM fluency (Django, SQLAlchemy, etc.), single-region multi-AZ design, production CDC experience (AWS DMS), hands-on with pganalyze and CloudWatch, experience with AI coding review tools, at least one production message broker (SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka), automation and IaC (Python/Go, Terraform), cross-team collaboration, comfortable in high-growth environment.
