Senior Database Reliability Engineer

Sezzle seeks a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to design, build, and scale the database platform. This role combines deep database knowledge with software engineering and platform thinking to improve reliability, security, and scalability. Responsibilities include building shared components, automation, tooling, and standards for database usage across applications. The engineer will work with AWS RDS/Aurora, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and developer-facing tooling.

6+ years of professional experience in software engineering, infrastructure, or database engineering. Strong software engineering in Go, Python, or TypeScript. Deep hands-on experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL in production. Experience with AWS RDS/Aurora, connection management, performance analysis, and safe migration processes. Ability to build production-quality internal tools and influence engineering teams.
