Staff Software Engineer, Observability

Astronomer seeks a Staff Software Engineer to join the Observability team, responsible for designing and scaling the observability platform for data pipelines built on Apache Airflow. The role involves leading architecture, building scalable features, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring engineers.

Strong technical experience building complex distributed systems with Golang, Python, Kubernetes, SQL/OLAP databases, Kafka, and stream processing. Hands-on experience with production infrastructure, excellent communication, focus on customer value, and comfort with ambiguity. Bonus: experience with data observability, Apache Airflow, or observability tools like Datadog.
