Software Engineer - Developer Experience

Figma's Build Systems team within Developer Experience owns build and CI infrastructure for a polyglot monorepo. They seek an experienced technical leader to shape platforms, reduce build/test times, improve CI reliability, and mentor the team. The role involves designing scalable build systems, distributed CI platforms, and test frameworks on AWS, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Candidates need 5+ years engineering experience including 4+ on Infrastructure/Platform/DevEx teams, deep expertise in build systems like Bazel, experience optimizing CI/CD and building developer tooling at scale, hands-on with AWS and CI platforms like Buildkite, strong coding in Go/TypeScript/Python/Ruby, and proven technical leadership. Nice-to-haves include migrating to Bazel and building test frameworks.
