Software Engineering Manager (Mission Ops)

Sift is a data infrastructure platform for hardware engineering teams. We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead the Mission Ops squad, which builds systems for monitoring, alerting, and root-cause analysis for customer fleets. The role involves managing a team, defining technical roadmap, ensuring high velocity and reliability, and hands-on contribution across frontend, APIs, and backend. Reports to VP of Engineering.

7+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in people management. Bachelor's degree in CS/STEM. Strong experience with distributed systems and web applications using Go, Rust, or Python, and modern frontends with React and TypeScript. Experience building real-time monitoring, alerting, or incident management systems. Familiarity with time-series data and event-driven architectures.
