Senior Software Engineer - Safety Experience

Discord is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Safety Experience team to lead development of user-facing products that protect hundreds of millions of users. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining backend services, APIs, and data pipelines to ensure platform safety and regulatory compliance. Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple teams to iterate on tooling and respond to evolving abuse landscape.

5+ years experience writing Python and using backend frameworks (Flask/Django), and 5+ years developing frontend interfaces with JavaScript (React/TypeScript). Familiarity with databases (Cassandra, Postgres, ScyllaDB). Demonstrated success leading end-to-end complex projects, troubleshooting production systems, strong communication, and data-driven decision making.
