Senior Back End Engineer (Data Platform)

Forma.ai seeks a Senior Back End Engineer to design and build Spark-based data platform capabilities for processing sales commissions. The role involves working with complex data models, improving reliability and scalability, and collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Analytics. Strong ownership and technical judgment are expected.

Strong experience building data systems or backend systems in production, proficiency in Spark or similar ETL frameworks, and at least one production-grade language like Python, Java, Scala. Strong SQL and data modeling skills. Experience with large-scale, hierarchical datasets. Ability to reason through tradeoffs and improve scalability/reliability.
