AI Developer Experience Engineer

The AI Developer Experience Engineer at PlanetScale will own the end-to-end experience for AI agents interacting with PlanetScale databases. Responsibilities include building and maintaining plugins for AI marketplaces, integrating with AI coding tools, testing MCP server and CLI across various clients, improving context for agents, building evals and benchmarks, creating demos, docs, videos, and attending conferences. Daily use of AI coding agents, experience building MCP server/plugin/CLI/SDK, software engineering background in TypeScript and Go, experience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, SQLite), data fluency, clear communication, independence and speed, genuine curiosity about AI tooling. Preferred: contributions to MCP spec, experience with agent skills/plugins, LLM eval tools, AEO/GEO, a public following, experience with Vitess/database sharding.
