Software Engineer - PlanetScale Postgres

PlanetScale is building a managed Postgres service. We are looking for a Software Engineer to design and build the control plane for provisioning, scaling, and healing Postgres clusters, build high availability and disaster recovery solutions, tune Postgres for scale, build tooling for database operations, and work directly with customers. The role requires strong experience with large-scale Postgres deployments, distributed systems, and Go programming.

5+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems in production. Strong proficiency in Go, experience with other languages like Ruby, Python, Zig or Rust. Experience building and maintaining distributed, fault-tolerant services. Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized applications. Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale. Preferred: experience building or operating a database-as-a-service, connection pooling,cloud
