Senior Software Engineer II - Payin Platform - Backend (Java)

The role is for a Senior Software Engineer on the Payin Platform team in London. The team builds the layer that powers how money enters Wise, creating abstractions for payment methods like Cards, Apple Pay, etc. This is a high-volume, high-leverage platform role focusing on correctness, reliability, and API design. You will work on Payin Session and Payment abstractions used by many teams, ensuring scalability to millions of transactions.

5+ years experience in Java, Kotlin, Python or Go; strong experience with Spring framework, relational databases, distributed systems (Kafka); great cross-team communication; testable code and testing strategies; best coding practices; product mindset; ability to work independently and take ownership. You enjoy writing testable code and have experience in unit and integration testing. You believe in code reviews and open feedback. You have a strong product mindset and passion for customer.
